How to Apply

All applications to Wellspring House must be made via the application form below. We are inclusive of all artists and scholars, of any genre or field, and at any level or career stage. In order to maintain a communal atmosphere of creative focus, it is important that all Wellspring House residents are committed to their artistic or scholarly practice while in attendance. Your application, therefore, should demonstrate your seriousness of purpose.

A week-long residency at Wellspring begins on a Saturday and ends on a Saturday morning. The standard residency period is 1-2 weeks. If there is availability, we welcome mid-week arrivals, as well as welcome stays for as short as a couple of days, or as long as a month or more.

The application form will request the following information from you:

    • A cover letter, demonstrating your experience as an artist, your commitment to your artistic practice, and the project you intend to pursue at Wellspring.
    • A resume or artist CV.
    • A sample of your work.
    • Your preferred residency dates.
    • Your preferred room.
    • An emergency contact.

Once you have applied, please wait a period of three weeks before sending a follow up e-mail. We will be in touch with you as quickly as possible.

If your application is accepted, you will be notified by one of our Resident Writers. At this time, a deposit of 50 percent your total residency cost will be due within two weeks from your date of booking in order to secure your reservation.
